. aaron and eun back to you. >> we're staying on top of breaking news out of russia. the emergency ministry telling nbc news that some 500 people are hurt after a meteor shower sent debris crashing to the ground. >> we've been all over video pouring into the newsroom of that meteor. you can see it causing a huge streak across the sky, a light. russia's academy of science weighed it in at about ten tons and entered the atmosphere at 33,000 miles per hour. doctors say they were almost hundreds of injuries there suffering from cuts, from broken glass that resulted from the sonic boom from that meteor. we'll continue to follow this. bring you the latest throughout the morning. >>> we're continuing to follow breaking news out of south africa. olympic sprinter oscar pistorius is charged with murder for the death of his girlfriend reeva steenkamp. prosecutors there say they will seek a premeditated murder charge against him. pistorius' first court appearance ended a little more than 30 minutes ago. the judge delayed the bail hearing until next week which means pistorius will remain in cus

have been hurt after a meteorite fell in western russia. it crashed about 1,000 miles east of moscow. look at this amateur video. you can see that meteorite literally streaking across the sky. unbelievable to look at causing that bright flash of light. it collapsed a factory roof, shattered windows. there are reports that more than 400 people were injured by broken glass. mostly in apartments here. it was about 9:00 in the morning when it came through. the aftermath left large clouds of smoke behind. at the live desk, melissa mollet, news 4. >>> melissa, thank you. >> incredible video coming out of russia. the fact that it was -- the impact was so great that it affected buildings, glass shattering, car alarms going off. >>> the sonic boom. three people ended up in the hospital being admitted into hospitals. hundreds of other people were hurt. just a scary thing. people thought they were under attack. reports where people thought there was an attack happening. >> if you didn't know it was coming and you looked up in the sky and heard the explosions, you might wonder what's going on. f

after an apparent meteor shower. >> this happened in the mountains much russia. that meteor was hard to miss as it streaked across the clear sky and literally shook the ground. this is amateur video of the meteor shower coming through. you can see it caused a huge flash of light in the sky before that crash. the country's emergency ministry says fragments of the meteor fell in a thinly populated area. it's an area about 900 miles east of moscow. more than 400 people are injured. mostly from broken glass. we're told, though, only three people have serious injuries. we've also gotten reports of at least one collapsed building. a roof. we'll continue to stay on top of this and bring you the latest as we get it. >> let's go to melissa mollet at the live desk. melissa? >> right now the bail hearing for olympic sprinter oscar pistorius is well under way. we have video of him arriving at court. nbc news has a reporter inside who says oscar is standing in court crying, his head hanging down, hands to his face. the double amputee is charged with murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend,
